Bersarin Quartett is a solo project of Thomas Bücker from Germany in which he creates melancholic, cinematique, musical emotional charges by the means of electronic orchestration. He also records as Jean-Michel. This is the first Bersarin Quartett album and was originally released a couple of years ago but is now re-released also on vinyl and includes ten instrumental, peaceful and atmospheric pieces. At times the music is pure ambient like on tracks ”Inversion” and ”Und die Welt steht still” but occasionally there are also some trip hop styled rhythms (like on ”Die Dinge sind nie so wie sie sind” for example). Thomas has also used some field recordings and samples. This is very pleasant, floating although not very surprising stuff but it has enough imagination so that you can listen to the whole album in one setting. There are lots of string sounds which I like. This is pretty great stuff for programmed music.
