Tuliterä: Clarity EP
Plugmusik (PLUG 3)

The Helsinki-based instrumental and psychedelic space metal band Tuliterä has released their second EP. The debut EP Alpha has sold really well and I’m sure so will this excellent, 30-minute-long disc with four tracks. The band put all their fastest rocking tracks on Alpha so they had a little problem while putting this second release together. The first two tracks “Monad” and “New Clarity” that will also appear on the forthcoming movie Annie are still up-beat enough, mid-paced stuff so that you won’t fall asleep during this EP either. The band’s music has so many different elements in it like sequencers, lush keyboards, psychedelic space effects, heavy guitar riffs, soaring lead guitar work, excellent melodies and punching rhythms to keep you interested. Also planned to be included on the forthcoming Tulikaste album, “Voidborn” is a long, peaceful, atmospheric and ambient-driven cosmic track that also has some heavier metal going. “Tunguska, Siperia”, on the other hand, is a thoroughly serene, dark and a bit twisted piece that has no drums. The band has again succeeded in creating an unbelievably good sound quality in their home studio and these cosmic adventurers sure don’t lack imagination in their music making. Also the playing is very good and on the basis of their tight live performances the band is getting ready for a bit bigger arenas as well. The band’s superbly produced music has some influences of Hawkwind, Devin Townsend, Klaus Schultze and Darkspace, but the end result still sounds pretty much original. Tuliterä is one of the hottest bands in Helsinki at the moment so I really would advice you to check them out.
