Dave Brock/Robert Calvert Project Ltd Edition
(08.08.07)
For
many years there was rumored to be one final collaboration between
Robert Calvert and Dave Brock. At long last in 2007 it can be revealed
that there is indeed a new album from these two musical heroes from the
last great age of Rock Music Dave Brock explains how the project came about:
"I had a cassette tape of Bob's poems for many years, of which
I [assed on to Trevor Hughes, who gave it to Jill Calvert, who gave it
to Rob Ayling, who gave it back to me and asked me to put some music to
them. This I did. Then the computer on which I had recorded everything
had been tampered with and half the mixes were lost.(we will eventually
retrieve them!)
These are the ones that survived.
For those who do not know Bob died in 1988"
(Dave Brock June 6th 2006)
The album is in effect the final collaboration and chapter between
these two artists in a connection that stretches back to the Hawkwind
album In Search Of Space and one that will be highly anticipated by the
large and devoted Hawkwind fan base. The album features musical
contributions from a number of Hawkwind alumni including Richard
Chadwick, Alan Davey, Jason Stuart, Trixie Smith, Dave Brock and Bob
Calvert. All compositions (Except for Long Time Friend and Some
Sketches Of A Hand which are Brock/Stuart/Calvert compositions) are by
Brock and Calvert and Bob Calvert provides spoken word contributions
from the original tape source.
Tracks include Centigrade 232, First Landing On Medusa, Locked In, The
Siren and Long Time Friend.
The album will be sold through a dedicated website where you will find
low quality samples of a number of tracks and pictures of Bob Calvert
and Dave Brock
This album will be limited to just 1,000 copies and demand is expected
to be high. To buy the album go to:

Øresund Space Collective News
(02.08.07)
In August, we will release our 3rd CD called The Black Tomato as a
deluxe digipack, limited to 1000 copies. It is will be released and
distributed via Transubstans Records as have all our releases. It
features Rumble (38mins), The Black Tomato (32mins) and Viking Cleaner
(6mins) for a total of 77 minutes. I think you will find that these
are some of our coolest journeys in sound.... I know you will like them.
The sound production is the best we have ever had (and I thought our
other CDs had amazing sound!). Thanks to Henrik Udd for the amazing
mix and Hans for the mastering job!
October 5–6th, the new line up of the Øresund Space Collective will
hit the studio to record the next CD. The guys who from Mantric Muse
are taking a break from playing (but not supporting and helping us),
while Stefan and Thomas from Gas Giant are stepping up to fly out into
space with us... We will also have a special guest playing synthesizers
on the session, but you will have to wait to read about it in the
diary! Sorry...
We have about 90mins of some really cool video from our last Dragens
Hule show in Feb and it is likely that Steen will video tape our next
show as well. I hope from this we can put together some sort of DVD by
the end of the year. You will have to wait a little longer, sorry..
You will get a preview on the DVD that comes with the next issue of
Bad Acid as well as a short interview..
As for live gigs... here is what is on the agenda at the moment:
August 24th CD release Party – Dragens Hule, Copenhagen
Sept – Jam Session
Oct 18th – Possible gig in Malmo, Sweden
Nov 29th – Alternative Maiden Club, Oslo
Nov 30th – Gig in Göteborg, Sweden or Trondheim, Norway
Dec 31st – OSC New Years Eve Party????? Just an idea right now..
It is possible that Ozric Tentacles will play in Denmark in November
and we might play with them. It is also possible that Acid Mothers
Temple will play and we will try to set up a gig together... None of
this is confirmed now... Just rumors of things that might or might not
happen.
Finally, it looks like Steve Hayes (Hawkwind, Secret Saucer, etc...)
will doing some mixing of the material left over from our last studio
session that Henrik Udd did not have time to mix... This is not certain
yet but there is another 60–70mins of some really excellent material...
shorter jams...
Enjoy the musical trips...

The Latest News from the OSC (28.09.05)
We will enter into the studio to mix our first CD on Oct 6th. The CD is
untitled at this time but will feature at least 7 but possibly as many
as 9 pieces of music. We will then search for some labels to release it.
We are also in the process to making our first best of the jam session
CDs entitled "Picks from Space". These will include the best of each
different session and will be limited to 500 copies or less. These will
be distributed by Aural Innovations (USA), CD Services (UK) and also
directly from the band.
The new web site design is finished (Thanks Jonas!) but the information
needs to be added, so it will still be a few weeks before this is on
line.
We have several jam sessions planned for the coming months so watch the
Sessions link for the dates as I usually post up the music 24 hrs after
the jams!

"New" Baby Woodrose album out now! (11.09.03)
Baby Woodrose - Blows Your Mind CD Re-release of the classic Baby Woodrose
debut album. In reality a one-man operation by Lorenzo Woodrose who wrote
the songs, played all the instruments, produced the record together with
Riky Woodrose and put it out on his own Pan Records in 2001. More obscure,
psych and lo-fi than the new stuff but the songs are every bit as cool!
Newly mastered and presented in a daring sleeve by Malleus sure to raise
an eyebrow or two. Release: September 8th.
Baby Woodrose will enter the studio this week to record a new album with
covers from the 60's and 70's. Songs that meant something to the band will
get the Baby Woodrose treatment and covers of Captain Beefheart, Savages,
Fred Cole, Painted Faces, Sonics, Saints and more can be expected. Working
title is "Too Tough For This Town" and release is set for early next year. |

Nick Saloman interview (09.04.2003)
The first Bevis Frond track I ever heard was 'Reflections in a Tall Mirror'
in '91, and it totally blow me away. I've been a die-hard Bevis Frond fan

is the Bevis Frond, writing all the music and lyrics, and playing all
the instruments on the early albums. read more...

Gas Giant interview (08.03.2003)
Gas Giant is a heavy Danish group from Copenhagen playing groovy,
bluesy stoner rock with psychedelic touch. They are coming to play
at our club on the 19th of April 2003, so I thought that some kind
of introduction was needed. Their excellent lead singer Jasper
answered my questions in the beginning of March. read more...
Kuusumun Profeetta interview (08.03.2003)
Kuusumun Profeetta from Pori has brought their original,
progressive flavour to the Finnish rock scene for almost ten years now.
This very regenerative and many-sided band used to perform in English
under the name Moon Fog Prophet. Some earlier stages and moods of
the group were dealt with an interview in Colossus magazine #7.
I now thought, that it was time to find out, how our
Prophets are doing today. The bass player Mikko Elo
answered these questions in March 2003. read interview...
